Temporary works and traffic management measures were implemented to maintain pedestrian access and safeguard public areas throughout the construction period. All works were sequenced to accommodate basement waterproofing requirements and structural load transfer through the pile-supported frame. Close collaboration with the client and design team ensured that construction tolerances and programme milestones were consistently met despite the site’s logistical constraints.
Scope of works.
Duration 33 weeks | Value £2.5m | Regent College
Key items of work included pile mat installation, constructing the capping beam, basement excavation, and installing drainage, pile caps, and tanks all within a tight site footprint on a busy high street. Additional work included constructing the tower crane base, installing the tower crane, and extensive rebar fixing, decking, formwork, precast stairs installation and concreting operations. This project showcases O’Connell’s expertise in delivering a high quality and logistically complex concrete frame.
